How It Works: Toolless Wood Joining with Self-Clamping ConnectorThe Tenso P-14, from Colonial Saw, is a self-clamping connector with three functions: alignment, clamping and connecting. The connectors can be installed without tools. First, a biscuit joint is created with a CNC router or a Lamello joiner. Next, glue is applied to the surrounding surface and then the wood components are joined. The hidden Tenso P-14 connectors now take on a clamping role, holding parts together as the glue sets. The connectors possess a minimal installation depth of 0.5 inches and can be used in all wood materials from 0.6 inches. Applications include furniture, drawers and cabinets.
