Hardwood association to hold annual meeting in September

RIDGEGIELD, Wash. — Western Hardwood Association, a non-profit association with the mission of being a sustainable Western hardwood industry resource, will hold its annual convention at the Ilani Casino Hotel in Ridgefield, Washington, on September 23-25, 2024. 

The event will open with a welcoming reception on the 23rd, followed by key speakers and conventions on the 24th, finishing the event with a day of fishing on the 25th. Key speakers and topics include: 

  • The hardwood export market - Mike Snow
  • What's happening in Washington DC? - Dana Lee Cole
  • Real American Hardwood Coalition & National Hardwood Lumber Association- Dana Spessert
  • Hardwoods at PDX  - Milke Lipke
  • Oregon Habitat Conservation Plan - unconfirmed
  • AI in the wood products industry panel - Joey Nelson of Joescan, Norvin Laudon of Microtec

    There will also be a raffle at the Timber Processing & Energy Expo on September 25th for a chance to win a hardwood gaming table.

    Drawing to be held on September 27th at the TP&EE convention in Portland. No need to be present to win.
