NYCxDesign Festival returns May 14, bringing hundreds of programs across the city

NEW YORK — The NYCxDesign Festival will return May 14–20, 2026, bringing a weeklong celebration of design to all five boroughs of New York City. As the city’s official design festival, the event is expected to feature hundreds of programs spanning exhibitions, installations, keynote presentations, tours, and neighborhood activations.

The annual festival convenes a wide cross-section of the global design community, including interior, industrial, architectural, and graphic design. It features hundreds of events, including installations, panel talks, trade shows like ICFF and WantedDesign, and open studio tours, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The program highlights the diversity of New York’s design ecosystem while creating opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and public engagement.

Events will take place across key design districts throughout the city, including Atlantic Avenue, DUMBO, Flatiron/NoMad, Harlem, Hudson Yards, Madison Avenue, the Meatpacking District, and SoHo. The distributed format allows attendees to experience design within distinct neighborhood contexts, reflecting both local character and broader industry trends.

Media interviews are available with Ilene Shaw, executive director of NYCxDesign, as well as participating designers, keynote speakers, and civic leaders involved in the festival.

The full schedule of events will be released at the official NYCxDesign website and through the NYCxDesign app, available on iOS and Android. The app is designed to help visitors navigate programming across the city and plan their festival experience.
