NEW BRITAIN, CT — Dewalt’s Metal Folding Sawhorse (DWST11155) has been awarded the 2016 Red Dot Award for Product Design, the international distinction for high-quality design.

Entries were judged by an independent panel of 41 jury members who assessed over 4,600 entries submitted from 57 nations. The Red Dot panel, consisting of independent designers, design professors, and journalists, reviewed criteria such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality, and ecological compatibility.

 

“With their performances, the Red Dot winners not only demonstrated an extraordinary design quality, but they also showed that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and president of the Red Dot Award.

 

The robust metal structure of the Dewalt Metal Folding Sawhorse provides a load capacity of 2,000 lbs. per pair. Top metal bars allow the use of trigger clamps and are provided with V-grooves to help position and secure pipe and small work pieces. When using a twin pack, 2 x 4 lumber recesses facilitate creation of a jobsite table, and side latches allow for stacking and carrying 2 folded products. The sawhorse quickly folds up to a compact size for ease of use and storage.

 

Red Dot winners will receive their trophies and certificates in July during the Red Dot Gala in Essen, Germany.
