Pantone has selected its Color of the Year

Pantone, a consulting service that forecasts global color trends and advises companies on color in brand identity and product development, has chosen their Color of the Year.

The company says that Mocha Mousse is a mellow brown imbued with "sensorial warmth and a spirit of thoughtful indulgence." This color is compatible with lighting and interior designs, and is an ideal canvas to blend texture, material, and color throughout the home. With its earthy tone, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse can stand alone or serve as a versatile foundation, enhancing a wide range of palettes and applications—from minimalist to richly detailed designs—across all color-focused industries.

"Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence," says Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman. "Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embracing aspirational and luxe."
