Layered walnut "fused" on dining table looks like marble

At first glance or from a distance, the Oxymoron Table looks like it could be made of marble. But on closer look, it becomes clear it's wood.

From Italian furniture maker Henge, the table top is made in an exclusive process the brand calls Forest Fusion, in which layers of walnut are cut and layered by hand - creating a marbled effect Henge refers to as a "micro-mosaic." The top, standing on bronze sand-casted legs, is then finished in high-gloss.

The table is made with rigorous and traditional craftsmanship in Italy, says Henge. It was created to feel at home in a wide variety of stylistically different houses and create an "informal, eclectic, and international atmosphere."

The company has many beautiful furniture pieces - many of which are customizable and modular. Check out its Instagram here.
