The 2026 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and International Builders’ Show (IBS), held in Orlando, Florida, February 17-19, highlighted carbon-neutral materials, bio-based cabinetry, and high-efficiency systems that prioritize both the environment and occupant/installer health.

More AntiEtch Next Gen from More Surface Care took the Gold Winner award for Sustainable Standout. By extending the lifespan of natural stone and eliminating harsh chemical maintenance, the treatment addresses the environmental cost of material replacement.

Another featured product, Éclos by Cosentino, is a new mineral-surface brand that is 100 percent crystalline silica-free and composed of up to 90 percent recycled materials. This dual focus addresses both the ecological footprint and the long-term respiratory health of installers. Also, Quartzforms debuted its Ecotone collection, utilizing 100% recycled quarry waste manufactured in a facility powered 60% by wind energy.

Cabinetry manufacturers have pivoted toward circular material economies. A high-profile collaboration between Nature Squared and JennAir showcased refrigeration panels crafted from reclaimed eggshells and mussel shells, transforming agricultural waste into luxury finishes.

Other key cabinetry highlights:

  • Mosian: An Italian brand that debuted FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) cabinetry, specifically marketed for ethical design.
  • Plain & Fancy: Won Best Cabinetry Booth. Its 2026 showcase emphasized “Responsible Stewardship” and long-term durability as the ultimate forms of sustainability.

At IBS, the SPAN Panel MLO 24 won Best Energy Efficient Product for its real-time management of solar, battery storage, and EV charging loads.

Muddskip earned Best in Show for its wall coating. Its “wet-on-wet” application eliminates the sanding stage, reducing construction waste and airborne dust.

Cosentino also unveiled Dekton Amazonik, an all-new, carbon-neutral surface that combines the aesthetic and warmth of natural wood with the advanced performance of Dekton.

Shipping efficiency emerged as a trend. Craftsman Kitchen Components, working with Threespine products, developed flat-packed custom range hoods to reduce packaging bulk and transportation costs.

Richelieu Hardware’s VERTI 840, a motorized shelf system, won Wellness Gold. By enabling aging-in-place, the system promotes the longevity of a home’s design, reducing the need for resources in future renovations.
