COPPELL, Texas - The Container Store introduced elfa Sliding Doors at its Manhatten and Chicago locations.

Designed and made in Sweden, each door is created to fit an exact space, with designs and fillings - from woodgrain to melamine and glass - to suit a variety of styles, the company says. All elfa Sliding Doors feature soft-close technology.

Closet components drive sales

Custom closet sales continue to propel overall net sales for The Container Store, which saw a 3.1 percent increase in its retail business in the third quarter. Its elfa third-party net sales were $19.1 million, up 10.5%, primarily due to the positive impact of foreign currency translation, the company.

“In the fiscal third quarter we made further progress with our core Custom Closets offering and delivered continued improvement in all of our non-closet categories, with the exception of our holiday departments, which typically represent a small percentage of our annual sales, but historically have had a notable impact on our fiscal third-quarter sales," said Melissa Reiff, Chief Executive Officer.

The Container Store also opened four stores in the third quarter of fiscal 2017, and had 90 stores at the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2017, as compared to 86 stores as of December 31, 2016.
