MANCHESTER, Conn. - California Closets' President and CEO Bill Barton has been announced as Bob’s Discount Furniture president and CEO, effective November 3, 2020. Charlie Chase, president and CEO of California Closets' parent company FirstService Brands will be the closet company's interim CEO until a replacement is found.
According to the company, Bob’s Discount Furniture is one of the largest and fastest growing furniture retailers in the country with approximately 135 stores across 21 states - opening 15 new stores in 2020 in California, Arizona and Nevada. One of the top goals of the company over the past few years has been to invest heavily in its e-commerce platform - an area where Barton brings a wealth of experience, launching California Closets e-commerce platform.
Barton spent 11 years as CEO of California Closets, a unit of FirstService Brands, which is a subsidiary of FirstService Corporation. During his tenure, Barton worked with the leadership team to drive sustained growth by introducing new products and materials, opening the company’s first two U.S. manufacturing plants, and creating collaborations with major lifestyle brands including Marquee Brands and Martha Stewart.
