ACSP to Present Planning and Design Guide WorkshopIn the works for two years, the Association of Closet & Storage Professionals (ACSP) Planning and Design Guide will be presented during the 2014 Cabinets & Closets Conference, Wednesday, April 9 at the Hotel Somerset-Bridgewater in Somerset, NJ.

According to Jeff Klein, president of Closet Specialist and ACSP board member and chairman of standards committee, the guide was created to educate architects, builders, remodelers, residential designers and interior designers on how to prepare construction sites so that closet and storage professionals can easily design and maximize their clients’ space. While providing specific detail, the guide does not show how to design closets.

The entire booklet explains why builders should not hire trim carpenters to build their closets but seek out their local closet and storage professionals. The booklet also explains how hiring closet companies increases their bottom line.

Presenters Klein and Dave Skinner, ACSP president and We Do Closets president, will offer conference attendees highlights from the guide in a workshop titled “Using the Association of Closet & Storage Professionals Planning and Design Guide as a Marketing Tool.”

Key questions for workshop participants: ‘If you don’t do enough business with builders, ask yourself “WHY not?” and “HOW can I change that?”

The session will show proven strategies on how to engage those customers and how to turn a meeting into a long-term source of committed referrals. Copies of the guide will be available at the workshop.

Closets magazine is the official publication of the ACSP. Register for this session at cabinetsandclosetsexpo.com.
