As the summer days slip by quicker than expected, I hope you’ve had time to recharge and enjoy some sunshine. As your current ACSP president, I’m excited to share some important updates and changes within our association that reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence in the closet and storage industry.
First, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Carlissa Montoya as she transitions from being president-elect to focusing more on her business, CM Closet Design in San Antonio, Texas. Carlissa’s leadership and dedication have been invaluable, and we wish her continued success as she directs her full attention to growing her business.
With Carlissa stepping back, I’m pleased to announce that Jenna Shock from Inspired Closets Pittsburgh will step in as vice president. Jenna brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to serve our association well. She’ll be up for a vote in the coming weeks, and if confirmed, she will step into the role of president in January when I transition to past president. Please join me in welcoming Jenna through any of our social media channels, and feel free to reach out to her directly with your support.
We’ve also made some significant changes to the ACSP bylaws to better align with our goals and the evolving needs of our members. The role of president-elect has now been redefined as vice president, with terms now set at one year, with the option to run for a second year. This change provides more flexibility and ensures that leadership remains dynamic and responsive.
This summer, many of you joined us at the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) in Atlanta from Aug. 6-9. I want to extend a big thank you to all the ACSP members who attended and to those who spoke at the Closets Symposium held the day before the show. The 2024 IWF Closets Symposium offered a deep dive into the business of designing, fabricating, and installing the latest in closets and organized storage, with sessions that ranged from pricing strategies to cutting-edge design trends. Your participation and engagement helped make the event a resounding success.
As we look ahead, I encourage all members to stay in the loop with ACSP. Our association is built on five key pillars essential to your success: Education, Best Practices, Product, Networking, and Marketing. By staying active in our community and participating in Circle, our exclusive members-only online platform, you’ll remain connected, informed, and equipped with the tools to thrive in our industry.
Remember, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Let’s continue to build together as we move forward into an exciting future.
Thank you for your continued dedication to ACSP, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together.
