April cabinet sales decline: KCMA Trend of Business report

RESTON, Va. – April cabinet sales were down compared to both the year prior, and the month prior, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's Trend of Business report. Custom was the only segment to record growth in both timeframes, with semi-custom showing declines in both, and stock sales mixed.

Responding companies reported overall sales of $181.419 million for April 2026, a decrease of 3.5% from the year prior. Custom sales however were up 13.7%, at $53.790 million, while semi-custom dropped 10.2% to $97.580 million  and stock sales fell 6.0%, to $30.049 million. Respondents reported a cabinet quantity for the month of 470,467, down 10.0% compared to April 2025 figures.

However, survey respondents reported increases in April for two of the three segments compared to March sales figures. Custom sales rose 8.0% and stock sales were up 7.8%, while semi-custom dropped 13.1%. Cabinet quantity also fell, down 6.3% compared to the month prior.

For the year to date, estimated sales by responding companies were $685.431 million, and cabinet quantity was 1.803 million.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) represents kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years.
