U.S. Endowment seeks proposals to repurpose closed mills

The U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities has launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) to assess the feasibility of repurposing closed wood products manufacturing facilities, including pulp and paper mills, for bioenergy. The initiative will make available up to $500,000 in pre-development funding to support one or two facilities across the United States.

The collection pays tribute to Austrian architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, creator of the Frankfurt Kitchen, which is widely regarded as the prototype of the modern fitted kitchen. The Limited Edition 1926 incorporates historically inspired design elements, including a curated palette of seven NCS colors in a durable matte lacquer finish, an integrated pull-out table and a built-in folding step, all offered at no additional cost.

Judging panel announced for 30th annual Pinnacle Awards

The International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD) has assembled a distinguished panel of home furnishings and textile experts to evaluate professional and student entries for its 30th annual Pinnacle Awards, widely recognized as the industry’s highest design honor. Following an extensive review process, the judges will select this year’s finalists and, ultimately, the winning designs.
