Florida man charged with trafficking cocaine hidden in furniture

An indictment was unsealed yesterday in federal court in Central Islip charging Omar Morales-Negron, also known as “O,” with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.  Morales Negron was arrested on July 14, 2026 in Florida and will be arraigned in the Eastern District of New York at a later date.

Sixteen students sign job offers with two RoyOMartin workforce programs

RoyOMartin provides a paid scholarship for every WoodWorks and Girls Can Too! new hire to attend Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) for six weeks. During the program, students build on their manufacturing knowledge, strengthen their workplace safety skills, and earn their OSHA 10 certification. Upon completing the training, they will begin their careers at RoyOMartin manufacturing facilities in Chopin and Oakdale, Louisiana, and Corrigan, Texas.

Multifamily surge lifts overall starts despite single-family decline

Strong multifamily growth pushed overall housing starts higher in June, while single-family production remained sluggish as elevated mortgage rates, rising construction costs and persistent labor shortages continued to weigh on the market. Overall housing starts increased 19% in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.43 million units, according to a report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau.
