Architects working with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences’ (UF/IFAS) School of Forest, Fisheries & Geomatics Sciences (SFFGS) will construct a temporary 400-square-foot timber pavilion near the school's Reitz Union.

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — Hansen & Company Woodworks (HCo) is marking its 20th anniversary with a significant expansion, increasing its casework manufacturing capacity by 400%. The jump from 150 to 500 cabinets per day is not just HCo scaling up its operations: it’s revolutionizing the industry standard.

The grant will help Sturgeon Falls Brush and Contracting Limited acquire a boiler system that will allow the company to dry wood to the specific requirements of its customers in the cross-laminated timber industry. The boiler will use biomass from local mills as a heat source.

Net proceeds from this special event will help fund woodworking skills development programs offered by the Woodwork Career Alliance to woodworking instructors and their students.

VANCOUVER — West Fraser Timber,  a Canadian forestry company that produces lumber and lumber products, reported their second quarter results of 2024. Second-quarter sales were $1.705 billion, compared to $1.627 billion in the first quarter of 2024. 

The expansion caters the needs of Mid-Am's lumberyard and customers by offering increased inventory, dedicated shop for doors, and improved customer service.
