After son texts "free firewood", man loses all his lumber

KENMORE, N.Y. - Here's a quick story that sounds like someone made it up.
 
A New York man called police last Thursday to report $200 worth of stolen firewood from his backyard. A quick investigation by responding officers determined that the man's son sent out a mass text which said "come get free firewood." Police advised the man to send out another text saying there was no firewood left.
 
The son's motives weren't reported.
