HANNOVER, GERMANY -Systraplan’s universal automated high-bay storage and retrieval system for panel inventory, the Volkslager, is aimed at wood manufacturers that companies that have previously not considered such systems for reasons of cost.

The high-bay storage system costs roughly the same as an area storage system. SYSTRAPLAN is exhibiting an addition to its concept at this year’s LIGNA in Hannover with its Volkslager storage and retrieval machine with stack transportation integrated into the base frame.

The storage and retrieval unit comes complete with integrated stack transportation and automatically picks wood-based panels directly off the shelf. Systraplan says that for a modest outlay, companies can use the Volkslager system to significantly boost performance compared to conventional area storage.

Using high bay storage means the stacks can be low, and varieties plentiful. The low stacks in the rack system means the system doesn't have to rearrange boards first. To remove them from stock, the individual boards are safely picked and then directly moved to the panel saw by a telescopic vacuum frame that can extend out from both sides.

SYSTRAPLAN GmbH & Co. KG (32052 Herford, Germany), is in Hall 26, Stand A57
