Keystone Introduces RTA Flat Pack Range Hoods

Keystone Introduces RTA Flat Pack Range HoodsA range hood shipped flat pack and ready-to-assemble has been introduced by Keystone Wood Specialties. It was shown at Cabinets & Closets Expo 2014 in Somerset, NJ, April 10-11, and stirred quite a bit of interest.

Keystone’s Range Hoods ship ready to assemble built on the snap-together Cabinotch cabinet box system. All range hoods ship flat with the mantle parts pre-assembled to the face frame, so the hood arrives in a compact container.

Six range hood designs are offered. They may be ordered finished in any of Keystone’s finishes and finish combinations, or unfinished ready-to-finish. Keystone is also able to custom color match an order to a supplied sample. Range hoods may be ordered full-cabinet, as shown here, or face-frame-only (without the cabinet box), featuring any of Keystone’s door styles – to match the kitchen project exactly.

Pictured above is a black hood, folded flat just as it would come out of the carton, and a white hood, below, unfolded. The black one, model KRH-2402 Hood, features sand-thru distressing.

Keystone designs the hoods with fully operable doors, to give easy access to the mechanicals of the range hood installation. There is an optional 4-inch high, 24-gauge brushed stainless steel liner. Hoods are available in six wood species, and in any Keystone door style and finish, or no finish and with or without the doors. Available wood species: cherry, clear cherry, hard maple, select maple, red oak and paint grade. Other species may be available on request. Sizing standard widths, in inches, run 30, 33, 36, 42, 48, 54 and 60; standard heights are 24, 30, 36 and 42; standards depths for all units are 19 and 21 inches – all built using Cabinotch. White River corbels are offered in traditional, canthus and mission styles.

Keystone began reselling Cabinotch RTA cabinets in 2012. It lets buyers precisely scale cabinets, and combine them with Keystone drawers, doors and other components. The cabinet box uses the patented Cabinotch wood-to-wood locking glue joint, assembles in minutes without tools, clamps or fasteners. Boxes are made from ½-inch formaldehyde-free Columbia Forest Products PureBond plywood, a CARB P2 compliant panel.
