A Copenhagen, Denmark cabinetry design firm says it will begin producing kitchen projects for its soon-to-open Brooklyn, New York design operation, engaging high-end architects to create kitchens using the IKEA cabinet lines as a basis.

Scandinavian furniture giant IKEA is testing a program to get customers to bring in their old furniture, both IKEA and other brands, and rewarding them with vouchers for new purchases. IKEA stores in France and Belgium accept the vouchers, and the old furniture is then recycled or re-sold.

Adams Architectural recently completed historically accurate windows for an historic home renovation. The homeowner wanted to keep the same look as the original windows, but wanted the efficiency of insulated glass. To preserve the same look as the original, Adams had to fabricate a thicker window sash to maintain the same depth of the muntin bar. More than 40 windows were replaced by the Dubuque, Iowa, company.
