MOORESVILLE, NC  --  HOLZ-HER's New EVOLUTION series represents a new level of technology and flexibility for CNC machining centers. The machines have a very small space requirement and yet deliver a high level of productivity. The vacuum-based clamping system (patent pending) is equipped with software-controlled, fully automatic suction cup positioning with hole recognition, allowing workpieces to be machined on all four sides without re-clamping. The standard drilling head is well equipped with 9 vertical and 6 horizontal drills and a grooving saw. The optional XL-drilling head has up to 22 drilling spindles and a grooving saw. The high performance router spindle with automatic tool changer delivers even greater flexibility and extremely fast cycle times.

With machining capacity of 3,200 mm (10 ft) in the X-direction without any additional support of the panels and 920 mm (3 ft) in the Y-direction, EVOLUTION offers a wide range of possible applications. These include machining possibilities of cambered solid wood sections, MDF furniture fronts, milling and drilling of furniture parts, engravings and complete processing of counter tops. This also guarantees extremely short cycle times and maximum precision even on long parts.

The EVOLUTION is provided as standard with Holz-Her CAMPUS/NCHops software for easy to use parametric programming, as well as an abundance of macros to simplify programming. The EVOLUTION series offers machining simulation, software controlled vacuum pod placement as well as direct DXF/DWG import.
