ST. MARYS, GA - The City of St. Marys is pleased to announce the relocation of 38 jobs and the construction of a new corporate office for Gilman Building Products in St. Marys, Georgia.

Gilman Building Products founded in 1972 is currently headquartered in White Oak Plantation in Yulee, Fl. The real work of the corporation goes on at its six Georgia and Florida sawmills. Gilman Building Products is the top producer of Southern Yellow Pine in the U.S. and produces 550 million board feet a year of kiln - dried southern pine boards and dimensional lumber - enough to build 65,000 homes.

Paul Lentz, Vice - President of Industrial Relations with Gilman Building Products says that, “ The staff of Gilman Building Products is excited about the news of relocating back to St. Marys, Georgia and we really are looking forward to the move.” 

Gilman Building Products Florida sawmills are located in Maxville, Perry, and Lake Butler , FL and the Georgia sawmills are located in Fitzgerald, Dudley, and Blackshear, GA . The sawmills ’ employ approximately 800 men and women. Gilman Building Products new corporate office will be approximately 12,000 square feet and located at the West entry gate of Osprey Cove Golf Course and residential subdivision in St. Marys, Georgia.

Their corporate office will house up to 38 management and administrative staff personnel.

Over the last year local deve loper Bill Gross along with several local economic development organizations such as the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Camden County Joint Development Authority, and the City of St. Marys Economic Development Office have all been working together to persuade Gilman Building Products to locate their corporate office here in southeast Georgia from their current northeast Florida location . Gilman Building Products was once located in St. Mary s Georgia.

Construction of the new corporate office for Gilman Building Products will commence immediately. It is estimated that the new corporate office will be completed by December 201 3 with Gilman Building Products moving in by year end.
