Universal Forest Products Reports 1Q Sales and Earnings Decline
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Universal Forest Products Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of wood and wood-alternative products, on April 16 announced its first-quarter results, including net sales of $489.5 million, down from $549.0 million for the first quarter of 2007, according to BusinessWire. The company lost $4.6 million in the quarter, compared to net earnings of $3.9 million for the same period last year.
