Houghton wins top prize in CLOSETS' design contest

LONG BEACH, CA -- Closet designer Michael Houghton of Custom Closets in Costa Mesa, CA, took top honors in the fourth annual Top Shelf Design Awards competition sponsored by CLOSETS magazine.

Houghtan received his award at a ceremony held Wednesday night at the Closets Industry Networking Reception. His walk-in closet done in maple and finished with a white lacquer was the “Overall Winner,” having garnered the highest score among all entries. Houghton also received top honors in the “Garage, 1,000 square feet or less” category and an Honorable Mention in the melamine walk-in closet category, more than 18 linear feet.
