-- SCM Group North America announced that Delmac Machinery Group will be merged into SCM.

The merger is expected to become fully effective on April 4.

SCM Group of Rimini Italy purchased Delmac Machinery Group in 2006. Since then, Greensboro, NC-based Delmac Machinery had been operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of SCM Group.

John Park, general manager of Delmac, will move to SCM's office in Duluth and assumes the new title of vice president of industrial sales for SCM Group North America.

Celaschi, IDM, OMAL and Bonacin machinery will be sold and serviced through SCM Group's Duluth headquarters. Delmac's office and showroom in Greensboro will continue to sell and service Busellato and Casadei equipment.

“By combining our resources, we are able to deliver better coverage to the U.S., Canadian and Mexican markets while strengthening the technical knowledge of both companies” said John Gangone, general manager of SCM Group North America.

John Park, previously the general manager of Delmac, becomes executive VP of sales. “A company’s service and reputation is built by its employees," says Park. "The employees of both SCM and Delmac are what have made us successful and together we will continue to provide excellent products, service and support for our existing customers and future customers. This merger will allow us to continue to provide cutting edge technology while improving our response time to the sales and service needs of our customers.”

SCM was established in 1952 by Lanfranco Aureli and Nicola Gemmani, experts on agricultural machines and cast iron. The first SCM product was “L’invincibile”, a multifunction machine for joiners. Following a series of acquisitions by SCM Group, in 2006, Casadei Macchine and Delmac Group joined SCM Group. In 2009 Rem joined SCM Group, specializing in CNC working centers for boring and inserting hardware.

A letter sent to SCM and Delmac customers announcing the agreement read in part:

"We are pleased to announce the merger of Delmac Machinery Group, Inc into SCM Group North America, Inc. Delmac Machinery Group, Inc. has been operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of SCM Group, Italy, since 2006. By combining our service network, product sales specialists and back office support as well as our collective manufacturing knowledge, we aim to build the strongest and most diverse machinery company in the industry.

"We have joined together some of the best and the brightest people in our industry to form a team whose main goal is to supply our customers solutions that help you succeed in your business. "We will operate under one name - SCM Group North America, Inc. We will maintain our NC showroom and service facility for the brands Busellato and Casadei, which will be marketed through a separate distribution network. Our other brands of Celaschi, IDM, OMAL and Bonacin will be transitioned to SCM’s Atlanta office.

"In order to make this transition as seamless as possible for you, most all our contact information will remain the same. As we progress, we will advise you of any new contact information you may need."
