CHICAGO - Don Schalk of C.H. Briggs Co. becomes the 2014 president of the North American Building Material Distribution Association.

The NBMDA Board is comprised of industry executives from the building material and woodworking industries. Other officers include: President-Elect Rick Turk, Metro Hardwoods; Vice President Bill Sauter, OHARCO; Treasurer Wayne Moriarty, Atlantic Plywood; and Immediate Past President Michael Darby, Capital Lumber Co.

Distributor directors include: Jamie Barnes, McKillican International; Ken Hager, Amerhart; Ray Prozzillo, A&M Supply; and David Sullivan, Meyer Decorative Services.

Manufacturer directors include: Mark Carlisle, M.L. Campbell; Jim Jacquemard, C.A. Technologies; Jeff Muller, Panolam Industries International, Inc.; Dan Pickett, Knape & Vogt Company; Greg Simon, Far East American; and Todd Vogelsinger, Columbia Forest Products.

"We are pleased to have such a strong group of industry professionals leading the association into 2014," NBMDA Executive Vice President Kevin Gammonley said in a statement. "The vision of the 2014 board of directors is focused on positive growth for our members. We look forward to continuing the momentum from 2013 and unveiling some new initiatives in the new year."

The NBMDA also recognized the following outgoing members from its board: Paul Vella, Atlantic Plywood; Robin Pollina, Plamer-Donavin Manufacturing; Greg Pray, Columbia Forest Products Inc.; and Chris Schlabach, VT Industries Inc.

NBMDA member companies serve the independent building material, lumber and kitchen and bath dealer, home centers, as well as companies involved in manufacturing cabinetry, architectural woodwork, store fixtures, solid surface fabricating, plastics fabricating, general and specialty woodworking.
