Weinig's flexible, to-order manufacturing cell at 2010 NexGen
New and integrated machines featured at NexGen
This video shows the flexible “to order” manufacturing cell demonstrated at Weinig during the NexGen Event. Prior to the video, the material was run through the Weinig moulder for S4S machining, then ripped to width. The video picks up at the Dimter S90 optimizing crosscut saw, where the wood already has been marked for defects. The Opticom scans for the defects and sets the program for optimal yield. A labeler then prints and applies the ID/bar code label for future machine setups. At the next station, the operator scans the bar code and the pieces are sent through the Friulmac Fleximat for edge profiling, then conveyed to the staging area (not shown), before going through the Friulmac T-Rex for the end cuts. This entire cell uses MillVision production and linking software.
