Woodworking Network readers are paying more heed to combustible dust issues. Three of the 10 most viewed items in April 2010 were a suspected combustible dust explosion at Wood-Mode, a  blog about OSHA's heightened interest of ComDust in the workplace and a fire reportedly preceded by two explosions that destroyed a Pennsylvania sawmill.

Barcalounger plant in doubt, but not brand

MARTINSVILLE, VA – The president of Barcalounger told Furniture Today that options are being weighed to manufacture the company’s recliners, but stopped short of stating the fate of the Martinsville plant that suddenly closed on April 16. The Martinsville plant had housed domestic production for Barcalounger, with additional product made overseas. Larry Smith, president of Barcalounger, told FT he expected a decision to be made within the next few days.
