Composite panel and forest product giant Arauco will close its medium density fiberboard (MDF) production facility in Bennettsville, South Carolina May 18.
Arauco will close its particleboard line in Moncure, North Carolina, effective April. The MDF line will be integrated with a moulding line to create an advanced MDF millwork operation.
Arauco has signed an agreement to acquire Prime-Line Inc., a manufacturer of MDF moulding and millwork products. Arauco said the acquisition strengthens its presence in the North American moulding industry.
