HANNOVER, Germany - High-performance resawing with state-of-the-art circular saw blade technology will be a key theme for LIGNA 2017. iBlade, a startup specializing in customized repair and service solutions, Serra, with a new rip saw, and LEUCO, with an unprecedented aerodynamic design for silencing jointing cutters 
 
SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH will show its new CS 600 rip saw, which the company is unveiling at the Mobile Sawmills Avenue at LIGNA 2017.
 
The pioneering design of the CS 600 features two 15-millimeter-thick lasered and milled steel side members, with the entire machine being located in between. Only the chain and V-belt drives are mounted externally. The speed of the two separately controlled feed units with profiled feed rollers can be regulated using a frequency converter.
 
The intake height is hydraulically adapted to the wood, and the large opening to the tempered saw shaft ensures easy saw blade changes. What’s more, the shaft is supported in only two places and is therefore particularly precise and quiet. The central lubrication also contributes to this.
 
The compact, slimline design with feed and outfeed tables delivers excellent mobility. The V-belt and chain drives of the feed unit have separate protective covers, while various motor versions are available, from 22 to 90 kW. The new CS 600 offers short on-site startup, thanks to its compact design and because it doesn’t require any further installation. The entire machine is transported as a complete unit, with the electrical box and saw motor being permanently attached to it. Users simply need to install the feed and outfeed tables and connect the power and they are ready to start.

Innovative measuring system for circular saw blades

iBlade, a startup specializing in customized repair and service solutions, is at LIGNA 2017 to present SawControl 800V2 pro, a fully automatic control and measuring system for circular saw blades.
 
The designers at iBlade, based in Kolbermoor, Germany, are the perfect partner for industry-specific customized solutions for automatic identification and measurement and optimum management of tools. They are committed to ensuring smooth production processes along value chains in the wood industry. For example, machining processes must not be impaired by poor tool processing. Precise quality control is needed to ensure this. iBlade is in Hannover to showcase its SawControl 800V2 pro, a fully automatic control and measuring system for circular saw blades that can be used to measure saw blades with diameters from 200 to 800 mm.
 
Various reducing rings fix the saw blades onto the flange of the SawControl 800V2 pro using magnets to measure the following parameters when inspecting the saw blade teeth – hook angle, top clearance angle, tangential clearance angle, radial clearance angle, tooth geometry, shaft angle, kerf, body thickness, tooth length, tooth width and runout.
 
The patented four-camera system of the SawControl 800V2 pro features an integrated measurement method for axis, tangential and radial angles that doesn’t require manual changes to the configuration. Optical distortions are also corrected using the software developed by iBlade. The measurement data is assigned to the appropriate tooth group thanks to intelligent geometry detection, and irregularities are highlighted quickly and easily through clearly structured reporting. The system calibrates itself fully automatically using the calibration disk included in the scope of supply and meets the latest ISO requirements.

Revolutionizing the wood release agent sector

Zeller+Gmelin is at LIGNA 2017 in Hannover to present a range of innovative wood release agents, including Multiboard Ultra, which has been specially developed for the wood chipboard industry.
 
As in many fields, release agents also play a key role in the manufacturing process for OSB, MDF and fiber boards. Zeller+Gmelin GmbH & Co. The strong, silent cutting blade type

LEUCO, the tool manufacturer with the prominent "U" in its name, is exhibiting at LIGNA 2017 under the banner "Magentify Wood Processing". It promises trade fair visitors wood processing with enhanced quality, performance, innovation and solutions.
 
Ledermann GmbH & Co. KG, better known under the brand name LEUCO, is at LIGNA 2017 in HANNOVER to once again showcase itself as one of the world’s leading suppliers of carbide- and diamond-tipped machine tools for wood and plastic processing. Its trade fair presentation this year focuses on new developments designed to increase machining quality and performance and improve the working environment through noise reduction measures.
 
The new developments notably include new versions of the groove shank-type cutter from the LEUCO p system that offer particularly small dimensions and thus can be used to produce chip-free milling grooves in all layers.

Squaring the circle on a flexible rip saw

Paul Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is at LIGNA 2017 in Hannover to premiere its flexible CGL rip saw.
 
No one knows where human evolution would be today were it not for the versatile fuel and building material we know as wood. However, evolution has so far failed to produce square tree trunks, which is why particularly clever machines are still needed to maximize timber yield. Wood processing machines from Paul Maschinenfabrik, based in Dürmentingen, Germany, are used for this purpose in virtually every country. The company is at LIGNA 2017 in Hannover to unveil its flexible CGL rip saw, which meets this very need.
 
The CGL rip saw, which has been developed for versatile solid wood cutting, has a saw shaft that is positioned over the workpiece. The resulting climb-cutting action delivers top-quality cutting, optimum width tolerance for strips and a minimal kerf. Maximum flexibility is ensured by the specially developed telescopic saw bushes, which can produce a minimum distance between moving saws of just 18 millimeters.
