SCM offers the Accord 50 FX 5-axis machining center with the ability to perform routing and boring operations to any size shapes. The company says there are no material limitations, with the machine capable of working with solid wood, composites, plastics, resins and light alloys. Workpieces can be up to 500mm in height. The machining head has 24,000 rpm maximum rotation speed and 72 tools.

Mikron’s new eight inch spindle option for its multi-moulder and router allows the user to cut a tighter radius in a single piece in one run. The lighter eight inch spindle uses a hardened, anodized aluminum cutting head that allows it to retain its four inch diameter which results in a tighter, cleaner profile on the radius piece and radius cuts for precision circular, elliptical, windows, curved crowns, and more. The company says the eight inch spindle is safer for the operator than using an eight inch shaper. The changeover time for the eight inch spindle option is less than five minutes.

Rockler has introduced a heavy-duty router lift with a snap-lock mechanism that pops out the anodized aluminum insert ring with a push of a plate-mounted button, and a two-speed gearbox that the company says provides faster height adjustments without sacrificing precision. An included speed-wrench-style crank handle works for both the gearbox and a quick-gear dial provided by the lift. Available in two plate sizes, the pro-lift comes with one snap-lock insert ring with a 1-1/2 inch center opening, a starter pin for template routing, and a set of hex keys for making all necessary adjustments.

Castaly Machine offers a wide variety of CNC routers, ranging from basic and standard models, in 4x4 through 5x10 sizes, to rapid change models with linear or rotary automatic tool change, to PRO models and twin table machines. Also available, the Universal 408 is a 4x8-ft, 4-axis CNC router with a universal spindle.

SCM's Oikos 6-axis machining center features an optimal technological solution for wooden logs, structural beams, and modular wall elements and can machine all six faces of the work piece without rotating it. It allows machining of elements up to 49 in. wide and 62 ft. long.

Grizzly Industrial's new six-inch benchtop jointer features a three-row spiral cutterhead with four-sided carbide inserts. It also features grab handles, and a baked-on, non-stick coating on the top that provides a slick surface for the workpiece. Weighing approximately 50 lbs., the machine is equipped with a 1.5 HP, 120V, single-phase, 12A, universal motor, and a built-in dust collection system. Extended table wings allow for longer pieces of wood to be worked on, and the aluminum fence helps keep the weight down for a high level of portability.

Castaly Machine offers a variety of planer sanders, including the WS-NA600 24-75 in. featuring a knife planer head, followed by a combination drum and platen head at the second station. Automatic elevation of the conveyor table is done with a micro-computer controlled with digital readout that accurately displays the position of the conveyor table and automatically moves to the correct setting thickness for planing and sanding.

SCM's Area CNC 5-Axis machining center features mobile gantry structure and modular composition for processing large timber construction elements such as CLT/X-lam panels for walls, and Glulam with straight and curved structural beams. It allows machining of elements up to 14.8 ft. wide and 164 ft. long.

Jet's new router table features mix and match components (sold separately) which include a cast iron or MDF table top, precision router lift, fence system with feather board and flip stop add-ons, transportable rolling stand, and multiple dust collection options. Both the cast iron and MDF table tops have a footprint of 32 in. by 24 in. to support a wide range of work pieces. The precision machined cast iron table weighs 88 lbs. while the lighter-weight MDF table is melamine-topped for a smooth work surface. The milled aluminum router lift features lock controls for tool adjustments and changes, and its four-post screw design with chain drive keeps tolerances tight and rigid.

JET’s new 10 in. ProShop table saw includes upgrades such as the newly designed arbor lock, and a new clear view blade guard assembly with separate leaves that function independently of one another. Prewired for 120V or 230V operation, the saw is powered by a 1-3/4 hp, single-phase motor that runs at 3,450 rpm. The table saw's single-lock ProShop fence design has a magnifying rail guide that allows the user to pinpoint and identify the desired stop. The left-tilt saw supports sheet goods and other dimensional lumber with the optional 52 in. maximum rip capacity to the right of the blade and 13.5 in. to the left.
