Stanley Furniture Named 2013 WMIA Technology Award WinnerStanley Furniture has been awarded the 2013 Wooden Globe, Commitment to Excellence through Technology by the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association. Stanley earned the award for its “bold decision to buck the trend of our times and bring production of a furniture line back to the U.S.”

Known for its “traditional construction and superior quality,” Stanley revamped and modernized its Young America plant in Robbinsville, NC. Investments made included advanced rough milling solutions, new packaging systems, finishing solutions and material handling. The investments to date total $8 million.

Stanley Furniture brought the Young America production back to the United States and since 2010 has been producing cribs and other baby and youth furniture at the 500,000-square-foot plant. The Young America line offers a safe, diverse product line available in a timely manner, said Bob Harold, vice president of Domestic Operations. And with the investments made, he added, Stanley Furniture is determined to prove that Made in the USA can be successful and profitable.
