JET Tools introduces the JWL-1440VSK 14" X 40" Wood Lathe with Legs. The 1440 lathe from JET can be tailored to accomplish a wide range of projects, says the company. It features a sliding headstock, which pivots 360 degrees with seven positive locking positions at 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 270 degrees for maximum variability and optimal user comfort, adds JET. It has a variable speed from 400-3000 RPM and a positive locking tool rest with redesigned clamping. The14” x 40” Variable Speed Woodworking Lathe is also available in a benchtop model (JWL-1440VS).  When using the floor standing model, the optional extension bed can be mounted in three separate positions for larger outboard turnings. The optional extension bed increases the lathe’s capacity to 60” between centers, says Jet. An Acme thread in the tailstock provides better quill engagement and an anti-rotation key is designed to make tailstock adjustments easier, says the company. It has an easy-to-read display. The JET 1440 Wood Lathe is CSA Certified.
