Rockler introduces the CNC Piranha, with a compact 12” x 19” table, which the company says makes it ideal for smaller scale projects including carvings, plaques, ornamental boxes and precision parts machined from wood, soft metals and plastics. The CNC Piranha includes a touch-screen interface. It can be used to carve corbels and brackets, intricate inlays and engravings, such as intricate circuit boards, adds Rockler. The Piranha’s XYZ travel is 12” x 13” x 3”. Overall dimensions are 19-1/2” wide x 20-1/2” long x 18” high. It includes Vectric software (cut 2D, machinist and 3D models) and features an aluminum interlocking slotted table for customizable clamping. It has a Color Touch Screen pendant control system included. Users can run a program directly from a USB flash drive at the Pendant or connect directly to a PC. Bits are sold separately. Users supply a PC computer with USB 2.0 port. A Bosch Colt router is sold separately. Retail price is $1,599.99.
