Holz-Her has developed the new Lumina Edgebander Series especially for the Ltronic laser edging unit, says the company. Ltronic from Holz-Her is a new, completely integrated solution for processing laser edging, says Holz-Her. The newly-developed NIR module (NIR = near infrared radiation) in the Ltronic unit activates the functional layer of the laser edging using electronic control to produce invisible joints resulting from matching the color of the panel surface to the specific edging. Holz-Her's Ltronic allows users to obtain a cost-effective alternative to laser and hot-air processes, applying laser edging with perfect quality, says the company.  There are no costs normally associated with the necessity to have a laser safety specialist when using the Ltronic process, adds Holz-Her, and the Ltronic unit does not require heat-up time or heat-up phases during the machining process. Holz-Her says the system operates silently and maintenance costs are minimal. For other applications, including solid wood edging, Holz-Her has available its patented Glu Jet glue application system. Holz-Her says a quick change option from the Ltronic to the Glu Jet system is possible.
