Doucet's new ALYX is an automatic loading mechanism for clamp carriers that features a two-axis automatic loading device and a lateral chain feeder. A glue applicator and measurement device acquires the width to detect the last stave which will not receive glue and creates a dry joint in the load. Pieces are edge glued through an extruder instead of a glue roll which the company says will save 20 to 30 percent of glue. It also features a panel forming zone and an accumulation conveyor that includes two moving holders.
