US Duct, a ductwork manufacturer with a beloved duck as its mascot, celebrated a massive facility upgrade and expansion with a company-wide steak dinner. From six people drawing ductwork systems by hand to more than 140 team members operating in a sprawling 252,081-square-foot Archdale North Carolina facility, US Duct has come a long way since firing up its first welding torch in 2014.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced the appointment of six members and four alternates to serve on the Softwood Lumber Board. The three regional alternate seats and public member and alternate seats are new for 2026.

The investment underscores the company’s rapid traction with top contractors and its role in reshaping how the construction industry manages waste, cuts costs, and measures carbon impact. Woodchuck has already diverted more than 13,000 tons of wood waste from landfills, saved contractors 30–40% on waste-hauling costs, and delivered clean biomass energy to regional power producers.

In 2025, the industry lost many well-known and long-respected leaders. Also lost were those not so well known, but who should still be recognized, and we have tried to honor them as well.This list, we realize, is not comprehensive. NorthPoint Cabinetry, a manufacturer of cabinets from Hardware Resources, has earned certification from the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA). Certification for it's line of assembled cabinetry. The KCMA requires cabinets to meet ANSI/KCMA A161.1 performance and construction standards that are recognized across the industry.
