AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine plans to expand its ban on products intentionally made with PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), so-called forever chemicals, in 2026, according to Maine Public radio.The ban first went into effect in 2023 for carpets and fabric treatment, with next year’s bans expanding to upholstered furniture, and other products.
