Federal judge rules that timber sales violated Endangered Species Act

The habitat of the northern spotted owl would be impacted by the sale of 18,000 acres of timber land, which is a violation of the Endangered Species Act, an Oregon District Court judge ruled. The News-Review in Roseburg, Oregon, reported that a portion of those timber sales is located on the scar of a forest fire, known as the 2019 Milepost 97 Fire near Canyonville.

Builder confidence down for 10th straight month

WASHINGTON – Builder sentiment fell for the 10th straight month in October and traffic of prospective buyers fell to its lowest level since 2012 (excluding the two months in the spring of 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic). The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) said that the results are a further signal that rising interest rates, building material bottlenecks and elevated home prices continue to weaken the housing market.
