Synthomer Plc, a supplier of acrylic and vinyl emulsions polymers , has agreed to sell laminates, films, and coated fabrics businesses to Surteco North America, Inc. for a total enterprise value of around $255 million or 208 million pounds.

Garnica, the producer of sustainable plywood made using farm-grown poplar from Spain and France, believes that the North American market for its product will continue to grow, and to prepare for this expected demand the company “recognized that a permanent fixture in the US market was key to maintaining their growth.” 

THOROLD, Ontario -- CHAR Technologies Thorold Inc. will receive $4.9 million from the Canadian government to help develop a woody-biomass-to-renewable-energy facility.

MILWAUKEE -- Bliffert Lumber & Hardware acquired Fillinger Millwork, a single-location millwork manufacturer of hardwood molding and custom millwork products in Milwaukee. The transaction closed on Nov. 30. Details of the deal were not released.  A month earlier, Bliffert acquired Milwaukee Cabinetry, a deal that closed on Oct. 31.
