Wood-Mizer appoints new CEO

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Wood-Mizer, a global manufacturer of sawmilling and wood processing equipment, has named Ben Brydges as its Chief Executive Officer. Brydges will lead the company into its next era of growth and innovation, strengthening Wood-Mizer’s position as a trusted partner to sawmillers, woodworkers, and forestry professionals worldwide, the company said.

Tire manufacturer Continental and kitchen manufacturer nobilia have developed a joint innovation project that will be debuted to international trade visitors at this year’s nobilia in-house exhibition in Verl. Continental’s group sector ContiTech contributes its long-standing expertise in material development and surface technology from the automotive interior and furniture industries, creating new impulses for the kitchen as a modern living space.

Trump slaps 25% tariff on cabinets and furniture, 10% on lumber, with eye on increasing duties

The Trump administration set tariffs on imported wood, furniture and kitchen cabinets announced by President Trump last week, while delaying their implementation by two weeks to Oct. 14. Tariffs on cabinets, vanities and upholstered furniturecould rise on Jan. 1, 2026, unless individual countries reach out to cut a deal with Trump.
