NOFMA Releases How-To on Gluing Solid Wood Floors

MEMPHIS – NOFMA: The Wood Flooring Manufacturers Assn. released a technical information paper (TIP sheet) with its recommendation on the proper technique to gluing down NOFMA-certified solid wood floors directly to a slab. Previously, NOFMA did not recognize glue-down as a recommended installation procedure for solid wood other than parquet flooring.

Dremel Observes 75th Anniversary

Bentwood Kitchens Names Hettich 2006 MVP Supplier

Steelcase Director Sells Shares

GRAND RAPIDS, MI –According to Business Week, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing said Robert C. Pew III, a director of Steelcase Inc., sold 164,092 shares of common stock. In a Form 4 filed April 6, Pew reported he sold the shares on March 4 and 5 for $19.90 to $20 apiece. Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transaction in their companies’ shares.

New CD Highlights 24 Midwest Hardwoods

WEST LAFAETTE, IN – Purdue University has released "Hardwood Lumber of the Central Midwest," a compact disk that provides information about 24 hardwood species commonly found and used in the Midwest lumber industry. The disk, compiled by Purdue Prof.Dan Cassens, discusses strength, mechanical properties, species location, main uses, abundance, unique characteristics, values, color and lumber grades. Featured woods include ash, basswood, beech, black cherry, cottonwood, red and white oak, sassafras, sycamore and yellow poplar.
