A 600 year-old white oak tree in New Jersey, believed to be the oldest of its kind in the world, is showing signs of age and has local residents worried.

CHICAGO - The business of interior design has been quite good over the past 12 months, and American Society of Interior Designers expects that to continue. Last year’s State of the Industry report showed that interior design had fully recovered to pre-recession levels, and the momentum carried through this year, with only slight moderation. With all indicators showing robust growth, this is a good time to be in the interior design business.

Weyerhaeuser plans to permanently close its lumber mill and plywood mill in Columbia Falls, Montana, by the end of the summer. "For some time now our operations in Montana have been running below capacity as a result of an ongoing shortage of logs in the region," said Doyle R. Simons, president and chief executive officer.

Kronospan, a manufacturer of laminate panel and particleboard, will invest $362 million to expand its operations in Calhoun County, Alabama, adding 160 jobs to its workforce.
