Economic activity in the manufacturing sector contracted in October for the eighth consecutive month, following a two-month expansion preceded by 26 straight months of contraction, say the nation's supply executives in the latest ISM Manufacturing PMI Report.

New residential furniture orders fell 3% in August, compared to the same period in 2024, according to the October issue of Furniture Insights. New orders also dropped 3% compared to the month prior, according to Mark Laferriere, assurance partner at Smith Leonard, the accounting and consulting firm that produces the monthly report.

Net sales were $698.9 million, a decrease of 2.7% compared to the third quarter of 2024.
