APA awards Jim Enright with 2025 Bronson J. Lewis Award

Now in its 20th year, the award recognizes individuals for their leadership and outstanding contributions to the engineered wood industry. Enright received the award on October 6 at the APA Annual Meeting in Phoenix. The award honors the late Bronson Lewis, who served as secretary and executive vice president of APA – The Engineered Wood Association for 24 years.

Furniture Safety Week Spotlight: Unstable fabric dresser recalled

Consumers seeking low-cost storage solutions began finding a new option online in the fall of 2023: a product marketed as a “fabric dresser.” More than 60,000 of the lightweight units with fabric drawers have now been recalled for failing to meet requirements set forth in the STURDY Act* – a federal regulation implemented in September 2023 that sets a stability standard for furniture that consumers use to store clothing.
