KREAMER, Penn. — Calling it a temporary seasonal layoff, Wood-Mode LLC in Kreamer laid off 35 employees on Oct. 13.

General manager Rod Hunter told the Daily Item that production was scaled because of a seasonal curtailment of kitchen remodeling at this time of year. The company still has about 550 employees, he said.

The layoffs are not expected to be permanent. With marketing programs and sales incentives coming in 2024, Wood-Mode expects to be “fully staffed by the middle-to late-January" and be back to full capacity after the first of the year, reported the Lewistown Sentinel.
