FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Vollmer of America broke ground on May 11 at their new location in Findlay Township, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh Airport. The new 29,200 square foot building is expected to be finished in March 2020.

Vollmer, a maker of grinding and erosion machines in woodworking and metalworking industries, has had its North American sales and service subsidiary in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, for the last 22 years. Having outgrown that location, the company decided in 2018 that it was time for a brand new building, tripling the size of the showroom alone to allow for more machine demonstrations and trainings for customers as well as new employees.

“This will set Vollmer up for success for decades to come and ensure the best possible service to our customers,” said Peter Allen, president of Vollmer of America.

Vollmer is expecting to move to the new 29,200 square foot facility in March 2020 and will welcome customers and partners for an open house celebration shortly after. Some of the highlights of the new building will be the doubled warehouse space, a larger showroom for a variety of machine demonstrations and trainings as well as the in-house gym for employees.

The new location will have a very modern look with glass, steel and concrete as well as high ceilings in strategic places. The 5.8 acre lot provides plenty of room for future expansions.

The North American subsidiary currently has 28 employees, 21 of which are based out of the Carnegie office.
