United Southwest Components announces two executive promotions

Jeff Popour was named company president.

TEMPE, Ariz. & ALVARADO, Texas — United Southwest Components, a construction service specializing in the design and manufacturing of engineered open web wood trusses for commercial and residential projects, has announced the promotion of two key executives as part of its strategic growth initiatives. Jeff Popour was named company president and John Geigley was promoted to general manager.

As President, Popour will oversee company operations in both Arizona and Texas, leveraging his industry experience to drive growth and innovation. He brings more than 30 years of experience in truss manufacturing to the position. Popour began his career working for his father’s business before transitioning to a regional sales role for Alpine Engineered Products. In 2003, he took on the challenge of being a plant owner and spent a decade growing and managing the business.

When the company was sold to Alliance Lumber in 2015, he joined Southwest Components. In 2023, after buying out his partners, he rebranded the company as United Southwest Components. Popour studied business management and played soccer at Cal Lutheran University, where he honed his leadership skills.

Geigley, general manager of USC

Geigley joined the USWC in early 2024 as the business development manager. As General Manager of Arizona operations, he will focus on enhancing project delivery, strengthening client relationships and fostering innovation. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Geigley started work in high school framing homes with his brother and continued while attending college. He transitioned to truss design and manufacturing, where he gained experience in commercial, residential, multi-family and custom homes.

Geigley was then hired as component design manager for a construction tech start-up company, where he managed and set up their one-of-a-kind end-to-end design process and system implementation. Before joining United Southwest Components, he led R&K Building Supplies’ truss division, turning one of the lowest-performing teams into one of the top five divisions in the U.S. under its parent company within the first two years. Geigley holds a Bachelor of Science from Almeda  University.

Working together, Popour and Geigley plan to continue the company’s expansion in Arizona and Texas and will focus on serving a broader range of customers while maintaining its standards for delivering high-quality products and services.
