BERLIN - TradeMachines is a search engine for used equipment that lists more than 1.4 million used machines, including about 30,000 items of woodworking machinery.

A recent search for the word "woodworking" turned up 164 results; while 794 machines are listed in the category "wood." Altendorf sliding table saws turns up numerous results rnaging in price from $1,100 to almost $6,890. Prices for previously sold Altendorfs are also listed.

The potential market for these 1.4 million machines can be  as many as 500,000 potential buyers every month from more than 150 countries.

TradeMachines, based in Germany, is reported to be the first metasearch engine for used machines, listing woodworking equipment, used farm equipment, machine tools, construction machinery and more.

According to the company, the second-hand machinery market was more than $380 billion in sales in 2015 and is growing every year. Part of the reason for this growth is that the price of industrial equipment has greatly increased in recent years, and more and more professionals and are turning to the second-hand machinery market.

The startup offers dealers a simple solution to target ready-to-invest buyers and to expand their market and visibility on the Internet. TradeMachines also enables professionals to easily access affordable, though performing machines, at a time when one is required to produce more and faster with ever less resources.

Heico Koch, CEO and founder of TradeMachines, said several years ago that there were a countless number of second-hand machine sellers scattered all over the world, mostly working at local level, and therefore missing a huge amount of selling opportunities.

This statement made him realize that there was no website to gather all those offers in one place, and the idea took root. For more information see http://trademachines.com/.
