SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Third Bench, through a general contractor customer, is supplying millwork and related products to the development of the 300-acre Netflix Campus in Mesa Del Sol near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Netlfix Campus is dedicated to the production operations for Netflix Studios.
Netflix, a streaming service that produces original content, purchased the Albuquerque Studios facility in 2018 and announced a significant expansion in November 2020. The project is expected to be completed in 2023. The 300-acre expansion will create an estimated 1,000 production jobs and an additional $1 billion in production spending throughout the state.
"People will be thinking of Albuquerque as the home of Netflix Studios," Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller.
Third Bench ranks 221 in the FDMC 300 list of top woodworking firms. Company CEO, David Fair, said, "This is one of many great long-term projects in the backlog of Third Bench! This project is an example of the many companies making a significant commitment to the Southwest, which will bring an influx of people to the region and create tons of high-income employment opportunities."
David goes on to say "The migration of people, from states like California, will be looking for housing in New Mexico. This project will continue to support the strong regional housing market and Third Bench will be there to supply cabinets for all the homes."
