Ohio woodworking professional, Jeff Beery, has died

STERLING, OHIO — Jeffrey David Beery, 43, of Sterling, died Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Cleveland Clinic after a 20-month battle with cancer.

Beery was born on May 18, 1981, in Wooster to Gaylord and Cheryl (Ecker) Beery and was a 2000 graduate of Norwayne High School. Beery owned and operated Beery Custom Woodworking and Remodeling for the past 14 years and had made his home in Sterling all his life. He enjoyed the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians, Ohio State Football, and Norwayne sports. Active in his children’s sports activities, Beery helped coach hundreds of kids over the years in youth soccer, basketball, baseball, and flag football. When Beery wasn’t coaching, he enjoyed hanging out with his family and woodworking.

Beery is survived by his wife, Michelle; his four children, Grady, Carter, Kensi and Addi; his parents, Gaylord and Cheryl Beery; sisters and brothers, Lynne and her husband Bud Kandel, Diane and her husband Chris Johnson, Brad and his wife Tonya Beery, Rob Beery, and Matt Beery; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Clara Wolgamott; brother-in-law, Matt and his wife Nikki Wogamott and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Grace Church in Wooster on Thursday, Feb. 27th at 11 a.m. Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Norwayne Youth Soccer, Norwayne Youth Basketball, or Norwayne Booster Club.
